Updated Costs for 2019 Tournaments (costs differ for online competitions).

Cash Prices (can be paid at the tournament)
In Australia, the cost of the Regional tournaments for the Bee and Bowl combined is 145 AUD for state schools and 175 AUD for private schools for a team of 3-6 students. In New Zealand, the cost of the Regional tournaments for the Bee and Bowl combined is 155 NZD for state schools and 190 NZD for private schools for a team of 3-6 students. For competing schools, the price includes both the Bee and the Bowl.  Students coming on their own are welcome to play only in the Bee, but they may also compete as a solo team in the Bowl.

The International Geography Bee Qualifying Exam costs 10 AUD or NZD for students taking the exam regardless of whether they attend a private or state school.

A discount of 20 AUD/NZD is provided if your school brings a functional buzzer system (this is by no means required though you may order one to practice with from www.andersonbuzzersystems.com – make sure to get the 10 person Officiator Tabletop model).
Within Australia, teams of 2 students play at a rate of 120 AUD for state schools and 130 AUD for private schools.
Within Australia, teams of 1 student play at a rate of 60 AUD for state schools and 65 AUD for private schools.
Within New Zealand, teams of 2 students play at a rate of 130 NZD for state schools and 150 NZD for private schools.
Within New Zealand, teams of 1 student play at a rate of 65 NZD for state schools and 75 NZD for private schools.

A student coming just to compete in the History Bee costs 30 AUD or 35 NZD regardless of type of school attended.

Note : The definition of a state school for our purposes is a school overseen by the government, and which does not charge any tuition fees to any students. “Semi-private” schools, such as private schools which are partially subsidized by the state but still charge tuition fees to students (even if there are a few students who may be attending on full scholarships) must pay the private school rate.

Wire Transfer Prices
Schools and individual students who need to pay by wire transfer are advised that wire transfers must be made in US dollars. The rates are the same for students in both Australia and New Zealand. Each transfer also incurs a $35 USD wire transfer fee (our bank charges us this amount to receive a wire transfer). Further instructions on how to send the transfer (i.e. our account information) will be sent in the invoice you will receive upon registering.
