International Academic Competitions is pleased to announce the inaugural All Asia Regional Online History Bee Competition! Students from around Asia will be competing online using Zoom and an Online Buzzer System.

Eligibility:
In order to compete in the History Bee, you must be 19 years or younger at the time of the competition. You must also be enrolled in a primary or secondary school at the time of your regional tournament (or have graduated within the past two months, and not yet have started university studies).

For the 2020-2021 academic year, in order to compete in the Junior Varsity Division of the History Bee, you must have been born in September 2004 or more recently. If you wish to compete in the Middle School division, you must have been born in September 2006 or more recently.
There is no younger age limit – a brilliant and well-behaved 8 year-old is welcome to compete. If players are homeschooled for the 2020-21 school year due to COVID-19, they can compete for the school they attended during the 2019-20 school year.

Likewise, there is no limit on types of schools – local, international, public, private, religious, and schools abroad following a home country curriculum are all welcome.

May 23 @ 9:00 (approx. 3 hrs)
Please make sure you calculate the start time in your own timezone. 

Tournament Format:
There will be 3 preliminary round matches that all students must participate in. Each preliminary round consists of 30 tossup questions. The top students will compete in the playoff rounds. The exact number of students that qualify for playoff rounds will be determined after the registration deadline.

Game Format:
The rules for the Online History Bee will remain largely the same as our physical History Bee rules.

Costs:
30 USD per player

Awards:
Top three students in each division will receive medals. All students will receive a digital Certificate of Participation.

Championships Qualification:
The top 60% (including ties) of students in each division will qualify for the 2020-21 Asian Championships.

Students who cancel their registration for free prior to the registration deadline. Students dropping after May 16, 2021 owe 100% of their registration fees.
