The International History Bee and Bowl is pleased to announce that as of the 2016 school year, the Australian and New Zealand Divisions have been combined into a single Australian and New Zealand Division, for which we are planning on holding the first-ever championship tournament in late 2016 as well. During June and July 2016, IHBB staff will be visiting schools throughout Australia and New Zealand with an eye towards holding between 6-9 regional tournaments between June and October. One of these has already been held on 16 June – our Victoria History Bee and Bowl at Kingswood College in Box Hill. Congratulations to the champions from that tournament who are listed here!

The other regional tournaments will then run in August-October, and we will then look to hold the first ever Australia and New Zealand Championships, most likely in or near Melbourne in December 2016 (though this awaits final confirmation). Australian and New Zealand students who have finished in the top half of any tournament in either the Bee or on a team in the Bowl are also welcome to attend the 2016 International History Olympiad in Hawaii on 17-24 July – for details, see the Olympiad website. For further questions on all aspects of our competitions, please email Mrs Nolwenn Madden at nolwenn@historybowl.com Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you at an IHBB tournament soon!
